FAQs

Questions clients often ask

Can’t find your answer? Call us on [Phone] or send a WhatsApp.

Do you charge for a site visit and quote?

No. The first site visit and the itemised quote are free. We will arrange a visit time that suits you and send the quote once we have measured and agreed the scope.

Which areas do you cover?

Tell us where your site is when you get in touch and we will confirm. Our office is at [Address].

At what stage should I contact you?

Ideally while blockwork is underway, so roof timber, ceilings and finishes can be planned and priced in time. We can also step into projects already in progress.

Which timber do you use for roofs?

Durable hardwoods such as odum and dahoma for load-bearing members. Lighter wawa is only used for battens and noggins, and only when preservative-treated. All timber, including site-cut ends, is treated against termites and rot.

Which ceiling should I choose: POP, gypsum, PVC or timber?

POP suits sculpted designs with cornices and lighting troughs. Gypsum board gives a flat, crisp finish for living rooms and offices. PVC is easy to clean and resists moisture, so it suits kitchens, bathrooms, verandas and shops. Timber tongue-and-groove brings warmth to halls, churches and porches. We will recommend a type for each room.

How long should new plaster dry before painting?

New sand-cement plaster needs time to cure and dry out before it is painted, typically a few weeks depending on thickness and weather. We check it before priming and use an alkali-resistant primer so the paint does not blister or discolour.

Which paint finish is best for my rooms?

Matt or silk emulsion for living areas and bedrooms, satin for kitchens, bathrooms and corridors because it wipes clean, and a weather-shield or textured coating with anti-fungal protection for exterior walls.

Can you work with my own contractor or architect?

Yes. We can deliver one trade or the full finishing package alongside your builder, architect or project manager.

I live abroad. Can you manage my project?

Yes. We can send photo and video progress updates on WhatsApp at agreed stages and agree a staged payment schedule with you.

Do you supply materials?

We can supply materials and show them line by line in the quote, or work with materials you provide.

How do you keep the site safe?

PPE on every site, checked scaffolds and ladders, harnesses for roof work, a short safety talk each morning, and tidy, protected work areas, especially in occupied homes.
